I had a pie pocket. Not quite a donut but just as delicious.

Oh, for sure. Nothing against the car! I’m just baffled at people who throw a donut spare on and then drive in the opposite direction of civilization/cell service. I’m 2 for 2 so far on donut-spotting at national parks this year.

A self contained pie you can eat on the go? What flavor?

Choices are apple, blueberry, or cherry. I’m an apple fan, bears apparently prefer cherry: https://boingboing.net/2015/07/17/colorado-bear-with-munchies-br.html

It’s under 7 hours fir me to drive to RMNP. Might have to be a summer road trip.

And shouldn’t the donut be rotated to one of the non-drive wheels?

I might be too cynical, but I’d say a good portion of Americans wouldn’t understand a word of that question.

I did that when I had a flat in my Civic. While I was swapping things around, a bystander asked if I had two flats. I explained that I didn’t want the donut on a drive wheel and she just looked at me like I had three heads.

I always wondered if that should be the case. What do owner manuals usually say? (I am not blessed with a vehicle that has an emergency spare.)
On o n e hand one can imagine car companies would design the donut so that it can fully function properly even if it is on the axle with the heavier load (assuming, correctly, that most owners/drivers can’t care less about subtleties such as weight distribution). O f c o u rse there is the issue of possible differential damage i f y o u d r i v e like that f o r l o n g d i s t a n c e s .
On the other hand, if that tiny tyre were to suddenly lose adhesion for some reason you’d prefer it to be on the front axle. Snap understeer is easier to control than snap oversteer.
